So, you ask...what's with the new blog and just who ( or what) is "Spider Ass"?
Spider Ass, is the name that was given to me when I was just a "wee-one" by my dearly departed daddy. I also answer to my Indian name, Princess Runs with Scissors,...(more about that later). However, to dad, I was just Spider Ass.
Dad had a sense of humor when it came to me...
For the longest time I actually thought that my name was Spider Ass. Maybe not my first name, but certainly my middle name.
How humbling it was when I started first grade ( Catholic school no less) and learned that my name was NOT Spider Ass, not even my middle name! I argued with Sister Peter Mary You're Doomed to Hell, that first day of first grade, that indeed my name was Spider Ass... she was not amused. Albeit, I was not trying to be amusing, I seriously felt that Spider Ass was a good, solid, hearty name. A name to be proud of. It was unique ( to this day I have never encountered another person named Spider Ass) and it simply had a way of rolling off the tongue. Sister Peter Mary You're Doomed to Hell, disagreed whole heartedly. It was on her insistence that I be referred to by the proper name that was given to me at my Baptism...( guess there is no St. Spider-Ass after all) and until I was sprung from Catholic School, I was stuck with being known as "Margaret".
But deep in my heart, I will always be Spider Ass.
